Letters received on the Launch of Flags of Honour Foundation
From: Rahul Bajaj, Member of Parliament, Chairman & MD - Bajaj Group
Date: Thursday, Aug 13th 2009
Dear Rajeev,
I have just received your letter of August 6. My congratulations regarding the launch of the Flags of Honour Foundation on the 10th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas on July 26 in Bangalore.
We are all conscious of the tremendous amount of work that those of us who are better off need to do for those in need and specially the weaker sections of our society. In the same way, the martyrs / wounded veterans of our services also may need help to the extent that the government, for whatever reasons, may not adequately provide the financial and other assistance that is required.
The Bajaj Group also manages and assists organizations in the fields of education, health and rural development. We have had this tradition now for almost a 100 years as my grandfather, late Shri Jamnalalji Bajaj, who was considered the 5th son of Mahatma Gandhi, not only gave away almost everything he owned for constructive work of Mahatma Gandhi and to assist freedom fighters but fully devoted himself in the freedom struggle.
We naturally cannot successfully emulate Jamnalalji. On the other hand, for obvious reasons, the amounts we spend each year on philanthropy is substantially higher than what was being spent till India became independent.
Once again with my sincere appreciation and congratulations,
Rahul |

Letters received on the Launch of Flags of Honour Foundation
From: S.Tarlochan Singh, Member of Parliament
Date: Wednesday, Aug 12th 2009
Dear Shri Chandrashekhar,
I am lucky that being Member in the Rajya Sabha I could not only know you but having the privilege of coming closer to you. God has been very kind to you in showering health, wealth and wisdom. You have used this treasure in a proper way which is giving benefit to the nation as well as the needy persons.
I have gone through the details about the Flags of Honour Foundation which is a highly laudable cause and you have generously contributed for this. You are aware that Punjab & Haryana have provided maximum persons for Indian Army and their number in the sacrifices is also quite large. Thousands of the families in these states have lost their sons for the nation. I assure you my fullest co-operation.
God Bless You.
Tarlochan Singh |
